Abraham contacted HerePigPig after reading about us on a recent Landshare newsletter.

He lives in London and tries all he can to provide his own food, however, due to land availability he is currently restricted to growing his own vegetables at home.

Interested in being involved in the process of rearing his own pork, Abraham contacted us to find out when we would next have piglets for the scheme.  As luck would have it Matilda gave birth just two weeks ago and he was more than happy to take one of them.

Lee went down to the HerePigPig woods that afternoon and picked out a fine Gloucester Old Spot / Saddleback cross.

And now a few words from Abraham and Yuan themselves:

We live in London and we love to eat. We cook a lot and we always love good food and good bargains. Owning a pig is something that we have talked about but would never be able to do raise it in urban London.

Through Landshare newsletter, we heard about the Own a Pig Scheme by HerePigPig. This is brilliant as we know we are contributing more towards ethical sourcing and farming practises. In this day and age of modern commercial farming, we are concerned about animal welfare.

We are very happy that Lee allocated a Gloucester Old Spot / Saddleback… and here is Toby!
