HerePigPig was originally created in 2010 when a group of friends decided to keep a few pigs as both a hobby and food source. We didn’t own land, had no experience in managing livestock and all had full time jobs, but for 2 years we managed to successfully raise, breed and produce our own fine free-range pork.
Unfortunately in 2012 we all went our separate ways and the pigs were moved to a lovely home on a new farm. But what to do with the website? (Not to mention our ever-increasing followers on Twitter, Facebook and Google+).
During my time keeping pigs, creating the HerePigPig ‘brand’ and managing the HerePigPig website and social profiles one thing was evident . . . the interest in both free-range and rare-breed local pork was increasing with every day.
… the idea was born!
Why not combine my online marketing / website development skills with my experiences in the pig industry to produce a central website which helps:
So, that’s what makes HerePigPig different! I may have a technical background and day-job, but I also have a genuine passion for all matters ‘piggy’ and believe we all need to do what we can to support our local free-range pig farmers.
Don't get me wrong, the common bacon sandwich is pretty much the perfect snack, however, there is so much more that can be achieved with the various cuts of pork available to us all today.
Don't these pigs look so much better outside in the fresh air?
